Courtyard by Marriott Bloomington Normal

We came here late in the evening after having a horrible experience at the new residence inn in Bloomington. We ended up canceling that reservation (so much for Bonvoy appreciation there) and coming to this courtyard. I had to make my reservation via phone on the way there as it was after midnight and it wouldn’t allow me to make a reservation for that same night. Frustratingly the woman on the phone made the reservation for Bloomington Indiana, not Illinois. After about 1/2 hr of getting that straightened out Richard at the front desk was so kind that he turned the whole situation around.. Even though there was an upgrade available the woman wouldn’t help at the residence inn in Bloomington -I wasn’t looking for any free be’s and had offered to pay extra to alter my reservation at the other location to no avail. ( they had no roll aways and I just needed to have space for 4 people) Here we were able to get into a nice basic room quickly and had a great stay. The coffee bar was closed in the morning but the kind lady went out of her way to get my husband and I a coffee. Thank out for helping us feel like appreciated Marriott customers! We would stay here again- skip the Residence Inn and come here- you feel the kindness of their staff!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Bloomington-Normal, IL. The front desk staff members were very helpful and courteous.

Great stay here coming into town for a little work get together with my boyfriend! Loved the decor inside and how they have everything set up. Very lovely atmosphere. Greeted at the front desk promptly by Adrianna, who was super sweet and friendly. She helped to check us in, and even humored our request to upgrade our two Queen beds to a single King, as well as a room with a balcony! Which was absolutely amazing! Made our stay 10x better. Event went great, we were back at the hotel for a wonderful stay, and in the morning we had an even better experience! We woke up early to indulge in the variety of breakfast and drink choices, and the welcoming company of Barb, Margo and Sandra! These ladies are all wonderful at what they do. Barb went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed and connected with us on a meaningful level that left us feeling incredibly blessed! We are so glad to have met her and had a beautiful stay. The chef(s) and wait staff did excellent! The only minor inconveniences we had were that the lids were not properly fitting the coffee cups, and for the life of us we could not find the invisible vending machine, so I guess it’s doing its job. :P Thank you! Can’t wait to come back for a little out of town stay sometime!

Everything was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was that the rooms had fairly poor sound isolation. My door was 20 or so feet from the ice machine but it was still quite loud in my room when people used it.

The hotel is definitely showing its age and could use an update, but it’s kept as clean as possible given its condition. The towels could use a refresh, but the AC worked great and kept the room comfortable. Overall, it was exactly what I expected — no surprises, no complaints.

Barb makes this place. Mornings are better when you come to the lobby and have her to greet you and start your day. Thanks Barb!

The rooms were your standard Courtyard setup, but they’re definitely showing signs of wear and could use some updating. The price was on the lower end for the area, which helped balance things out. Housekeeping was a bit inconsistent during my stay, but the staff overall were very friendly and accommodating. The location is a big plus, there are plenty of food options nearby, making it very convenient.

This Courtyard by Marriott is a great choice if you’re visiting someone at ISU. The location is perfect, close to campus, convenient, and easy to get around. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and I recommend booking one with a balcony. It’s a nice touch that lets in a refreshing breeze and gives the room an open, airy feel. While the property may be slightly dated, it’s extremely well maintained and spotless throughout. The staff truly make the experience stand out they’re friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food was also very good, and the indoor pool was a pleasant surprise with comfortably warm water. Overall, this hotel is a great value for the price. Whether you’re in town for a short visit or an ISU event, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend.
